What Makes The QuietKat And Rambo e-Bikes Stand Apart From Their Rivals?

Both the QuietKat and Rambo are extremely well built, using top quality parts and components and designed by people who are experts in their field, with the user in mind. This has created rugged, sturdy, and hard-wearing bikes that will absorb the punishment that getting the most out of these e-bikes causes, and then ask for more.

Both these brands are built to handle the challenging paths you might encounter in the back country.

On the surface, both company’s offer e-bikes that are very similar and provide exceptional user experience, so we’re going to break down everything from quality to performance to warranty to see if we can separate these e-bike icons.

QuietKat e-Bikes Overview

QuietKat is built for one purpose and doesn’t shy away from this fact, with a large selection of fat tire electric bikes built to conquer off-road environments, from hills, forests to swampy areas. The QuietKat boasts that it can do it all. The manufacturer boasts to have a bike for people that enjoy hunting (the original design purpose), camping, or simply riding off the trail.

Showing design specs that advise the QuietKat e-bikes are more than capable of carrying heavy loads, and these are capable of carrying nearly everything you might need while out and about on the trails.

The QuietKat offers designs using assisted pedal power, and full-throttle capabilities, which gives the user the choice of power-assisted pedaling, or just letting the motor do the work for you. Offering a digital display that easily shows crucial information, such as battery life, range, and speed. Finally, on the design, fat tires make gripping all types of terrain easier, making the ride smoother and more enjoyable.

A great feature offered on all levels of QuietKat is the throttle, allowing precise adjustment and control means that the speed can be fine-tuned on the go for tricky areas of terrain.

This throttle system is backed up with disc brakes on both the front and rear of the e-bike, allowing almost unrivaled control. All models, as you would expect, offer the option of altering the seat height to allow for riders of different heights, offering an extra level of inclusivity. Typically using Lithium batteries, the charger will fully recharge an empty battery in six hours on average.

Another feature that requires mentioning is the QuietKat lifetime warranty against defective workmanship for the frame; however, all other components have a one-year warranty.

Rambo e-Bikes Overview

The Rambo e-bike is standing against the QuietKat today. Rambo claims to have designed and built a quality e-bike, constructed as standard from high-quality materials and parts.

The e-bike, similar to the QuietKat, has been designed toward off-road activities, including hunting, with some models even including a camo design for those that want their e-bike to stand out (or blend in, in this situation).

Rambo e-bikes include a one-year warranty for both the frame and the parts on the e-bike, which is not as comprehensive as the frame’s lifetime guarantee from QuietKat. Rambo boasts that their e-bike is tailored to fit the specific needs of hunters, enabling them to get in and out of places effortlessly, with agility and minimum noise to give your location away.

Comparing Entry-level e-Bikes

For those that are new to off-road or e-bikes designed for hunting or other specific purposes, when looking at a new bike, the entry-level is normally the first place people look. These are great quality e-bikes and, despite being entry-level for the manufacturer, are leaps and bounds better than most off-road e-bikes provided by entry-level brands.

Rambo Savage [Entry-Level]

The Savage is the entry-level bike from Rambo and, understandably, the manufacturer claims that this is

“the perfect electric bike for someone who is looking to get into the e-bike world.”

The high-torque 750W mid-drive BBS02 provides a powerful motor, which is known across the industry for its reliability. The high torque output is perfectly adapted to everything from leisurely rides to towing a substantial weight behind it. Let’s remember, this e-bike is designed for hunters, so being able to transport your kill and the strength needed for that is an essential part of the construction.

The entry-level model from Rambo is impressive, for it also features a Sturmey Archer 3-speed internally geared hub, which provides an unbelievable 1-2 punch combo of pulling power and raw speed.

As with many manufacturers, Rambo offers a great range of accessories, all of which are compatible with the Savage, meaning that even if you select the entry range, you can continually upgrade parts such as front and a rear rack and a front suspension fork.

Using external LG Lithium-ion battery cells, the Savage is backed up with one of the most reliable battery cells available. It boasts an unbelievable 800 charging cycle over their life span while offering an impressive 30-mile range.

The main thing that stands out from the Rambo Savage is the injection of raw power that riders can expect. The Bafangs BBS02 has long been regarded by enthusiasts as an industry leader, and it really is easy to see why people love the motor so much with 750W output and a peak rating of 1000W, a maximum torque of 120 N.m, which riders can feel every time they engage the motor.

User Reviews

Fast delivery and easy to assemble (put front tire on and set handlebars). So far have only taken it for three short (5 mile) rides through the neighborhood to get the feel for it but must say I’m impressed. Easy to operate, sturdy build, feel safe, tires grip the road and POWER. Taking 12 degree hills sitting down as I peddle. I live in a suburban area so not much woody terrain to conquer, looking for something to tackle hills and get me through the city and the Savage does that. Although it is a mountain bike I feel it is superior to a “city cruiser” bike because of the build. Mid drive is strong, rear hub Archer Sturman gear is perfect (no need to try and figure out massive multiple gears) and no derailleur (less to repair). Disc brakes are great for my need, seat is comfortable, ride is smooth and responds well. Company has been easy to deal with, price was great and I’m a happy customer. Unless something changes, which I would address in another review this bike is a steal.

QuietKat Ranger [Entry-Level]

The Ranger is our entry-level pick from QuietKat. The 2020 edition has been overhauled with an integrated battery, motor system, and improved weight distribution to give rider optimal performance and handling.

Equipped with 26” x 4.5” inch Kenda Juggernaut tires and Tektro brake disk shows off just how capable this e-bike really is and lets everyone know where the e-bike finds home.

User Review

This e bike is really amazing, I have deployed it on a wide variety of terrains in MO, KS and CO. Just returned from an archery elk hunt in Colorado where all 4 in our group used e bikes exclusively for traversing up and down the mountain every day for 10 days. The stealth of the bikes really changed the way we hunt. The ability of this bike to climb very steep trails is awesome. It has no problem climbing (with no pedal assit) with me at 205 lb and a 35 lb pack. A huge advantage for turkey hunting as well. I found I use the bike way more than I thought i would. Excellent workout with motor assist off.

The Mid-range Comparison

There are many reasons that consumers look for mid-range e-bikes. For some, this is their first e-bike purchase, but they have more money to work with or want some of the benefits offered by higher levels, without spending on a top-end e-bike. Other people find themselves looking for an upgrade from their entry-level e-bike. So if this is your first purchase or if you’re looking for a little extra, read on as we break down the mid-range e-bikes from QuietKat and Rambo.

The Rambo Nomad [Mid-Range]

Starting out with the full name of the Rambo, The Rambo Nomad 750W XPC11 TrueTimber Viper Western Camo Xtreme Performance Electric bike, gives the Nomad a substantial title worthy of a member of a Royal Family. However, the name isn’t the only impressive thing going on with the Rambo.

Built with the same power and pulling torque seen in the entry-level e-bike, the first noticeable upgrade is the front suspension fork providing a better handling experience for off-road fun. Also to note is the continuation of the “Intelligent power control” from the Savage, which claims to allow the near-silent motor to creep along while maintaining gyroscopic effect.

Rambo’s frame integrated battery on the Nomad (and indeed with many Rambo e-bikes) allows the battery to be positioned lower on the frame than what would be expected from many alternative providers. The lowering of the battery allows a lower center of gravity, allowing for a faster and more agile e-bike.

The integrated batteries are manufactured by companies such as Samsung and Panasonic, both household brands that give real consumer confidence. These lithium-ion batteries can be upgraded to a mind-blowing 21-Amp, giving users an incredible 75-mile range, blowing away many competitors before they can even mount a challenge.

The Nomad features the Bafangs BBSHD powerful mid-drive motor, upgrading what was seen on the entry-level Savage. Working a 750W power as standard, the Bafangs motor will peak at 1000W, giving that extra boost of power when users call on it.

With a reduction ratio of 1: 21.9 and a maximum torque of 120 N.m, users can really feel the force of the motor and the power held within as the e-bike takes off. An incredible range of power, range, speed, and torque gives the Nomad the freedom to explore nearly all terrains while users can be confident that the e-bike is more than capable of handling the task, supported by the 26inch wheels and sturdy 4inch tires.

User Reviews

I have the camo version, and not only does it look cool, but it performs much better than I thought it would. It’s truly amazing the hills it can climb and the terrain it can pass. I researched electric bikes for a long time before deciding to purchase a Rambo, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision!

The QuietKat Warrior [Mid-Range]

When considering the Ripper is not a true entry-level QuietKat e-bike, the Warrior makes up for a lot of ground, offering a great e-bike that rivals many of its competitor’s top-end offerings. The Warrior appears to be one of the most powerful e-bikes available and consistently looks to improve the performance and remain on the edge of new technology, driving the brand forward.

Mortar750W, 1000W, Mid-Drive

When looking at the specifications of the Warrior from QuietKat, we were instantly drawn to just how powerful this e-bike was. Being easily able to accommodate a rider of 300lbs, without compromising performance and maintain a speed of 25mph on full assist with an impressive range of 20 miles.

An all-new integrated battery and motor system is the core of the Warrior with improved frame geometry, offering an even more intuitive and comfortable ride. The new 2020 Warrior features updated frame geometry paired with focused weight distribution to optimize ride quality and better handling either on the road or off the beaten track.

The Warrior features QuietKat’s adjustable coil-suspension, mechanical disc brakes, and an 8-speed drivetrain. Powered by a mid-drive motor, the Warrior utilizes the full range of gears for maximum torque for climbing steep hills.

While these are certainly a benefit, the 1000W mid-drive motor certainly deserves the attention as it makes tough terrain easy to maneuver on either on assist or full motor. Helping traverse any type of terrain is the 26inch wheels with 4inch tires, built for tackling off-road environments.

It’s not the “cheapest” bike ever made. BUT…you get what you pay for. This bike has so much power. My husband is larger than the suggested size limit (He is 6 ‘-6’ and weighs around 280) and it has NO problem hauling him around!! I originally got it for him for hunting as he is getting older, but since we’re had it a while we have decided that we will be purchasing another one for me!!!

The Top Of The Range

Sometimes, it always is best to reach for the best available. The pinnacle of creation, be it a sports car, truck, holiday, or in this case, e-bike. The top range e-bikes from both Rambo and QuietKat offer the best-in-class not only for these brands but provide something for other brands to strive towards.

Read on and see for yourself why these are the behemoths of the e-bike scene when it comes to conquering all-terrain adventures or drawing envious looks on your daily commute.

Rambo Rampage [Top-Range]

With an aggressive name and inclusive price tag, it is easy to see why The Rampage sits atop the pile at Rambo. Just planning where to start has caused us a headache.

Featuring a full performance suspension and a lighter frame than its predecessors at just 67lbs. The incredible torque, control, and power on offer means that The Rampage can and will handle any terrain that you can think of and perform, thanks to the 27.5inch wheels with tubeless-ready rims, Bafang Ultradrive 1000W motor giving riders a top speed of 28mph and finally rounding out with the Panasonic 48v 21-Amp battery giving users an unbelievable 70-mile range.

Built entirely with the best available parts and components, The Rampage spared no expense in the pursuit of building the ultimate all-terrain e-bike.

Utilizing the batteries that are integrated directly into the frame, allows Rambo to greatly improve the handling and the agility of the e-bike without having to make sacrifices elsewhere, also by integrating the battery into the frame users can ride anywhere without the worry of dislodging the battery and having to stop and perform emergency repairs. No costs were spared to build the most extreme off-road fat bike.

Rambo claims that “The Ultra-Drive 1000w mid-drive motor is a cyclist’s dream, using three sensors to gauge the speed and pedal torque this motor gives you unmatched control and comfort. The Max Drive delivers a nominal power rating of 1000W and a peak rating of 1500W. The Max Drive System puts out a maximum torque of more than 160 N.m. This motor operates in virtual silence while powering you at 1000W.”

While those numbers will make most enthusiasts blink, the amount of raw power means that The Rampage will perform admirably as its intended purpose taking you closer to kill and transporting your trophy with you. For those that aren’t interested in taking The Rampage hunting, enjoying off-road trails, forest paths, and commutes are easy pickings for this creation from Rambo.

I’ve been patiently waiting for this bike to come back into stock so I can buy one for my son as well. They quickly sold out of their first production run. This is an absolute climbing/powerhouse of a bike. IF you demand the best of the best, this is your baby. I have 150 miles on mine and have taken in the extreme of extreme terrain. So much fun. The battery lasts longer than I do being 21ah, and the battery management system Rambo uses is the best. I am a pretty big bike geek, and this one is the best I have owned.

The QuietKat Quantum [Top-Range]

When explaining the name ‘Quantum’ the guys at QuietKat seem to have taken this very seriously.

Quantum mechanics is the body of scientific laws that describe all the complex things that make up the universe and everything in it. The study of Quantum physics is so advanced that most of us cannot understand it, therefore anything labeled Quantum sounds like scientists have spent day and night working to create the most advanced e-bike ever seen.

Mortar1000W, 750W Mid-Drive
Weight70 lbs

This is sure to entice people looking for the best available in class. After all, the Quantum is the flagship model from QuietKat, and the Quantum sees QuietKat flexing that muscle.

The Quantum boasts the most advanced technology and geometry available with 150mm of front and rear suspension travel. The Tektro, four-piston hydraulic disc brakes keep the rider in full control, whatever the conditions or terrain giving the user the confidence to push the Quantum to the very edge of its capabilities without feeling out of control.

Supported by 27.5inch wheels and some of the best all-terrain tires available allow the e-bike to take on the steepest of hills without complaint and then descend slowly down the same steep hill, even in the wet and mud and on uneven, broken ground.

Providing users with either a 1000W motor or the class 2 e-bike 750W motor the Quantum has the power to back up the claims made by QuietKat. The Quantum battery is a 16-Amp 48v piece that is integrated directly into the frame for added weight distribution, lowering of mass, and battery security.

While the peace of mind that comes with a more secure battery is great, it is the other features that allow riders to really take control. Lowering the balance and center of gravity makes the Quantum a much more agile and responsive experience, in conjunction with the Tektro hydraulic brakes giving users an e-bike that takes all you can give and asks for more.

Riders are propelled along at an unassisted top speed of 25 for a max range of up to 50 miles, offering a lot more of the best of both worlds for hunters, off-road enthusiasts, commuters who want that bit extra for their commute, or even those that want it all.

User Review

Totally awesome bike. Amazing how much power/speed this bike has and absolutely no noise at all. Above all, customer service is the best I’ve ever experienced for any product.

Can They Be Separated?

On the surface, there are a few details that hold each e-bike manufacturer apart from each other. The obvious one being that QuietKat doesn’t offer a traditional entry-level model, unlike Rambo. But, how that works in the benefit of QuietKat is that they provide a model built specifically for a younger audience, and that will certainly help over time with brand loyalty.

Another benefit that QuietKat has is the lifetime warranty for the frame. This is a great feature to include and speaks volumes about how confident that QuietKat is over the quality of their workmanship when building their e-bikes. Both Rambo and QuietKat include a standard 12-month warranty on all parts, but the frame warranty with Rambo is part of the standard 12 months, which might give prospective buyers a little pause.

One of the things that will attract and put-off potential customers is pricing. QuietKat holds it’s pricing on a level that is more than affordable for the equipment being offered and remains budget-friendly, without vast price jumps from their smaller or basic level e-bikes to the more technologically advanced high-end models.

The pricing models from Rambo are generally higher than QuietKat, although Rambo enthusiasts will point to the further range that the batteries offer or the slightly higher speeds on some models. While the price points do start higher, like QuietKat, they don’t jump too steeply between the various models; surely giving some people pause for thought if they might want to spend a little more for more features.

Final Thoughts

Both Rambo and QuietKat are clearly industry leaders when it comes to e-bikes that cater to hunting and all-terrain experiences. Both offer a great product, and whichever is chosen will come down to personal choices such as styling or if one particular model offers something specific a potential customer is looking for.

For these two to go head to head, something has to give however, many people will be attracted to the lifetime frame warranty offered by QuietKat, while other users will prefer the faster speeds and greater ranges offered by Rambo.

Whichever you decide to go with, you have the peace of mind that you’re going to be purchasing one of the best e-bikes available that will willingly take on everything you can throw at it and come back for more. From a unique and commanding look on the daily commute to letting loose off the beaten track and conquering the wild, both Rambo and QuietKat will offer an experience like no other.
